Notes about recording the album:
After many years of musical experience as a lead singer for various melodic rock bands in Milan, I decided to record my personal "Tribute to Journey" in early 2000.
I got in touch with some of my oldest friends who played along with me in the past, asking them to play some of Journeys stuff, but at that time it didn't work very well; so I tried
to get some help from the web and as luck would have it, I found some unknown musicians from the United States who sent me their demo CD including some of Journeys greatest hits.
I was totally amazed! ... They had the "sound" I was searching for! So I asked them to record 11 songs for me and few weeks later they sent me a copy with the complete instrumental tracks, then a few days later (in March of 2003), I went into "Joe's Garage" a recording studio in Milan and I recorded all the lead vocals and background vocals for each song one
at a time.
I also got alot of help from a friend of mine named Max Palmiotta who performed background voclas on "Suzanne" and
"Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin". Then we mixed in an extraordinary outro guitar solo on "Be Good To Yourself " performed by Sandro Zevio who is a blazing guitarist and also another good friend.
The mastering was engineered by my long time friend Christian Gardoni who did an amazing job in less than a month of session recording.
The most difficult part of the process to complete this record was to create and mix the background chorus on each song from start to finish, but in the end I feel the album sounds pretty good and is very close to capturing the sound of the original versions.
Of course that's only my opinion... So give a listen to these sample clips from the record,
I hope as a fellow fan you appreciate and enjoy the songs as much I enjoyed re-creating them.
